Cut Knife RCMP asking the public to report sightings of Jeremiah Sokwaypnace

Cut Knife RCMP are asking the public to report sightings and information on the whereabouts of 19-year-old Jeremiah Sokwaypnace.

On October 9, 2026, around 12:30 a.m., Cut Knife RCMP received a report of an attempted vehicle theft on Poundmaker Cree Nation. Officers responded and determined an armed adult male approached an occupied truck and attempted to steal it. The victim – who was the driver and sole occupant – fled in the truck, and the armed adult male fled on foot. The victim did not report physical injuries to police. 

As a result of investigation, 19-year-old Jeremiah Sokwaypnace has been charged with:

• one count, robbery with a weapon, Section 344, Criminal Code;
• one count, possession of a firearm when knowing possession unauthorized, Section 92(1), Criminal Code;
• one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Section 88(1), Criminal Code;
• two counts, weapons/firearms possession contrary to order, Section 117.01(1), Criminal Code;
• two counts, fail to comply with probation order, Section 733.1(1), Criminal Code;
• one count, unauthorized possession of a firearm, Section 91(1), Criminal Code; and
• one count, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, Section 94(1), Criminal Code (Information #90593901).

Jeremiah is described as:

• Height: 5 ft 9 in 
• Weight: 170 lbs
• Eye colour: brown
• Hair colour and style: short brown hair
• Other descriptors: tattoo on left hand

He may be driving a black Dodge 1500 truck.

Jeremiah Sokwaypnace is known to travel to the following areas:

• Cut Knife, SK
• North Battleford, SK
• Lloydminster, AB

Cut Knife RCMP continue to investigate.

If you see Jeremiah, do not approach him. He may be armed and is considered dangerous. Report all sightings and information about the whereabout of Jeremiah Sokwaypnace to your local police at 310-RCMP.
