Forensic Science and Identification Services
Forensic Science and Identification Services (FS&IS) is an integral part of National Police Services, with a mandate to provide quality investigative support services for frontline policing. FS&IS provides a wide range of forensic programs and services to clients in Canada and internationally through forensic science services, crime scene forensic identification, fingerprint identification and criminal record repositories and the National DNA Data Bank.

Criminal record checks
The Canadian Criminal Real Time Identification Services (CCRTIS) maintains the national repository of criminal records in Canada.
Forensic Identification Services
A collection of services that secures, records and documents crime or disaster scenes as well as collects and packages exhibits for analysis.
National DNA Data Bank
Maintains a collection of DNA profiles to help investigators solve crimes and help identify human remains. It supports criminal and humanitarian investigations.
National Forensic Laboratory Services
Provides forensic services in biology, firearms, toxicology and trace evidence for Canadian police forces and oversees the National Anti-Counterfeiting Bureau.
Canadian Police Information Centre
The Canadian Police Information Centre facilitates the sharing of criminal justice and public safety information through the Canadian Police Information Centre Systems.
