Lindsay Ellis
Chief Superintendent

Chief Superintendent Lindsay Ellis has more than 24 years of experience in law enforcement and has lived and served in the Yukon for over twelve years. She was appointed as the M Division Commanding Officer on January 23, 2025. During her tenure in the Yukon, Lindsay has served in various operational roles in M Division and in 2018, she was commissioned to the rank of Inspector as the District Operations and Support Services Officer for M Division. In late 2019, she assumed command of the Whitehorse Detachment as the Officer in Charge. Lindsay was promoted to Superintendent in 2022 as the Criminal Operations Officer of M Division with a strong focus on public safety, the modernization of policing services for frontline and specialized policing while fostering genuine relationships with Yukon First Nations people.

Her earlier postings included postings in British Columbia, including: General duty at West Shore and Salt Spring Island Detachments, Island District Drug Section in both Victoria and Nanaimo. In the Yukon, postings including: The Federal Investigations Unit in M Division, occupying roles including Unit Commander, Division Undercover and Human Source Coordinator, as well as Criminal Operations Reviewer and Plainclothes Commander.

Chief Superintendent Ellis is a member of the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP), and participant in several RCMP and government-led sub-committees on topics such as Restorative Justice and Law Reform, Decriminalization, First Nations Policing; was the co-chair of the Yukon's Sharing Common Ground Policing Review Steering Committee and is the Chair of the Criminal Intelligence Service Canada BC / Yukon Provincial Advisory Committee, participant on the CACP Organized Crime Committee as the Northern Representative and co-chair of RCMP National Mandatory Training Operational Committee).

In 2021, Chief Superintendent Ellis was the recipient of the Long Service Medal. In 2024, She received the King Charles Coronation Medal from Commissioner of Yukon for her work on reconciliation as well as a Commander Commendation for Outstanding Service for leadership in specialized policing in the Yukon.

Lindsay was born and raised in Arnprior, Ontario. She attended the University of Ottawa Bachelor program with a concentration in Criminology and holds a Certificate in Police Leadership in Administration from Dalhousie University. She and her husband have a 5-year-old daughter who is a fourth generational Yukoner.
