On March 3, 2026, at approximately 2:35 p.m., Watson Lake RCMP received a report of a collision between two commercial transport trucks. Watson Lake RCMP, Watson Lake Emergency Medical Services and Yukon Department of Highways all attended the scene. Both drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The highway was closed for several hours and reopened to traffic at approximately 5:00 p.m. on March 3. Blowing snow and poor weather conditions are believed to be factors in the collision.
