Carmacks RCMP is investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on the North Klondike Highway on September 2, 2026.
At approximately 2:34 p.m., Carmacks RCMP received a report of a motor vehicle collision on the North Klondike Highway near Little Fox Lake.
Two vehicles were involved in the collision, one of the passengers was pronounced deceased at the scene. The two drivers and the other passenger were transported for medical treatment.
Yukon Coroner’s Service, Yukon Emergency Medical Services, Ibex Valley Fire Rescue, Hootalinqua Volunteer Fire Department and Yukon Highways and Public Works attended the scene. The highway was closed to traffic following the collision and reopened to one lane at approximately 5:56 pm. A collision reconstructionist attended to examine the scene. The road fully reopened at 2:04 p.m. on September 3.
The Yukon RCMP extend condolences to all those impacted by this incident. The investigation is ongoing.
