Grande Prairie RCMP Municipal Drug Unit drug trafficking investigation results in seizure

Grande Prairie, Alta. – In Sept. 2025, Grande Prairie RCMP Municipal Drug Unit initiated an illicit drug trafficking investigation. A suspect was identified and the evidence gathered led to two search warrants being obtained and executed on Oct. 29, 2025, at two separate residents in Grande Prairie, with assistance from GPPS. 

 

As a result of the search, the following items were seized:

  • 1.7 kg of cocaine;
  • 1.5 kg of methamphetamine;
  • 24 grams of fentanyl;
  • One prohibited firearm;
  • Over $50,000.00 in Canadian Currency;
  • Drug trafficking paraphernalia; and
  • A 2022 Dodge Ram as an instrument of crime.

As a result of the investigation, a resident of Grande Prairie, who will not be named due to ongoing investigation, was charged with 3 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and 1 count of possession of proceeds of crime over $5000. The individual was brought before a justice of the peace and released on conditions. They are to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie on Nov. 17, 2025.
