Alberta RCMP MCU investigates homicide in Grande Prairie

Grande Prairie, Alta. – On Feb. 11, 2026, just after midnight, Grande Prairie RCMP received a call regarding shots fired in the area of 96 street and 112 avenue. RCMP and GPPS members responded and located a deceased male. Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit (MCU) were called in and have taken carriage of the investigation. Police officers will remain in the area as they conduct their investigation and ask that the public please avoid the area. RCMP does not believe that there is any ongoing danger to the public at this time.

An update is anticipated once more information becomes available.
