Fairview RCMP arrests prolific offender

Fairview, Alta. – On Feb. 26, 2026, while attending an address to execute an arrest warrant on a wanted individual, a Fairview RCMP officer noted a car in the driveway with its engine on. Upon further investigation, Fairview RCMP noted the person within, a known prolific offender, appearing asleep at the wheel, as well as drug paraphernalia. The suspect was arrested and a search of the vehicle resulted in locating multiple stolen license plates, which were seized along with the drug paraphernalia. The arrest warrant was then successfully executed at the residence.

As a result of the investigation, a 42-year-old resident of Bluesky, Alta., was charged with possession of property obtained by crime. They were brought before a justice of the peace and released on conditions, to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Fairview on March 25, 2026.

A 40-year-old resident of Fairview, Alta., was arrested on their outstanding warrant which included charges for break and enter, possession of break in tools, mischief, possession of a controlled substance and failure to comply with release order. They were brought before a justice of the peace and released on conditions, to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Fairview on March 23, 2026.

“This is a great example of how a call for service can change unexpectedly” said Sgt. David Illi, Detachment Commander of the Fairview RCMP. “Our officers are always on alert for all types of criminality no matter the type of call or proactive patrol there are engaging in. We will keep working diligently in order to keep our communities safe”.
