Blackfalds RCMP charge individual with aggravated assault

Blackfalds, Alta. - On March 6, 2026, Red Deer RCMP received a report of a victim at the hospital with serious injuries. Investigation determined that the victim had been assaulted in Red Deer County and the investigation was turned over to Blackfalds RCMP. Blackfalds determined that the accused attacked the victim with an edged weapon at a residence on Lake Street. That same day, Red Deer RCMP located and arrested the suspect.
A 29-year-old resident of Red Deer County has been charged with:
- Aggravated Assault; and
- Failing to comply with release conditions.
They were brought before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody with their next court date set for March 13, 2026, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer.
