Blackfalds RCMP arrest armed individual after reported break and enter

Red Deer, Alta. – On March 15, 2026, at 8:14 p.m., Blackfalds RCMP received a report of a break and enter that had just occurred at a hotel room in Gasoline Alley. Upon arrival, officers obtained a description of the suspect and began to make patrols. Police located the suspect near a different hotel and arrested them. 

As a result of a search incident to arrest, police located:

• A loaded 10 mm handgun;
• Break and enter tools;
• Quantities of MDMA, and;
• Quantities of Methamphetamine. 

As a result, RCMP have charged, a 32-year-old, with:

• Breaking and entering;
• Possession of break in tools;
• Trafficking in a controlled substance; and
• Firearms offences (x5).

The individual was taken before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody with their next court date set for March 19, 2026, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer.
