Brooks RCMP arrest individual for weapons offences and breach of release conditions

Brooks, Alta – On March 10, 2026, Brooks RCMP received information that an individual was in the City of Brooks despite court-ordered conditions prohibiting them from attending the city.

Police were advised of a vehicle description which they were seen in and began searching the area it was last spotted.  Officers than attended the residence of a known associate to the suspect on the west end of Brooks and conducted a door knock.  While speaking with the homeowners, officers located a vehicle matching the description parked in the back alley. Shortly after, the individual was located and arrested.

At the time of their arrest, the suspect was found to be carrying a knife, contrary to conditions. 

As a result of the March 10, 2026, investigation, the individual has been charged with:

  • Carrying a concealed weapon;
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
  • Failure to comply with a release order (x3); and
  • Uttering threats.

The individual has been remanded into custody to appear at Alberta Court of Justice in Medicine Hat on March 19, 2026.
