Grande Prairie RCMP investigate disturbance at college

Grande Prairie, Alta. – On March 25, 2026, at 1:06 p.m. Grande Prairie RCMP responded to a report of am disturbance at Northwestern Polytechnic. It was reported that a lone male had become aggressive causing a disturbance and pointing what appeared to be a toy gun with an orange tip at several individuals in and around the College. The same male was seen at several other location in Grande Prairie. 

Officers made patrols and have located and arrested a suspect. The firearm has been confirmed as being a replica. 

Information about the suspect can be provided once charges are sworn.

There is no ongoing risk to the public.
