Coaldale RCMP flight from police leads to drug seizure

Coaldale, Alta – On April 1, 2026, Coaldale RCMP seized a significant amount of methamphetamine following a vehicle stop where the driver initially failed to stop for police. The approximate combined value of the illicit drugs is estimated as $12,000.
A 30-year-old, a 27-year-old and a 56-year-old, all residents of Taber, Alta., have been charged with trafficking in a controlled substance. Additionally, the 56-year-old individual has been charged with flight from police, and the 27-year-old individual has been charged with two counts of failing to comply with a release order.
All were brought before a justice of the peace. The 30-year-old and 56-year-old individuals were released on conditions, to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Lethbridge on April 30, 2026. The 27-year-old was remanded into custody and is to appear before the same court on April 8, 2026.
