Westlock RCMP make arrest and seek public assistance for other suspects

Westlock, Alta. – On Apr. 6, 2026, between 3:15 a.m. to 3:33 a.m., three suspects attempted to break and enter into a business near Highway 44 and Highway 661. Shortly afterwards, three suspects broke and entered into some businesses within the town of Westlock. While one suspect was being arrested, two other suspects broke into another business and then fled town.

Two break and enter suspects remain at large and are described as:

Suspect 2 wearing:

• Black hoodie;
• black sweatpants with white writings; 
• white shoes;
• black gloves; and 
• black bandanna on the face.

Suspect 3 wearing: 

• grey sweatpants; 
• hoodie;
• black jacket;
• black shoes;
• black gloves; and
• grey bandanna on the face.

The police investigation for the other two suspects is ongoing and Westlock RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance for dash camera footage, or surveillance footage in the areas of Highway 18 and 108 Avenue, in Westlock, between the hours of 4:15 a.m. and 5 a.m. on April 6, 2026.

Suspect one, a 32-year-old resident of Edmonton, was arrested at one of the scenes and is facing 10 multiple charges, some of which include:  

• Mischief over $5000 x3;
• Break and enter x2;
• Possession of break-in instrument;
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous – handgun; and
• Resist arrest.

The individual was brought before a Justice of the Peace and has been remanded into police custody. They are set to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Westlock at 10 a.m., on Apr. 8, 2026.
