Red Deer RCMP on scene of a serious motor vehicle collision - update #2

Red Deer, Alta. – On April 12, 2026, at 9:43 a.m., Red Deer RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision on 67 Street near Parmley Avenue in Red Deer. Upon arrival, the driver and sole occupant of one of the vehicles, a Toyota Matrix, was deceased. The driver the other vehicle, a GMC Sierra, received minor injuries and was treated and released. The deceased has been identified as a 47-year-old Saskatchewan resident.  

RCMP remained on scene for several hours investigating. 

RCMP have determined that the Matrix crossed over the center meridian into oncoming traffic. 

Alberta RCMP send their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
