Strathcona County RCMP arrest an individual following early morning foot chase

Strathcona County, Alta. – On April 3, 2026, at approximately 4:30 a.m., Strathcona County RCMP received a report that an unwanted individual had entered a rural property on Range Road 204 and Township Road 512, in Strathcona County.
Strathcona County RCMP members responded to the scene, however the suspect had fled on foot prior to their arrival. At 5:17 a.m., a second call regarding the same suspect was received. The caller reported the individual had forcefully entered their rural property near Highway 14 and Range Road 204, assaulting the homeowner, before fleeing once again on foot.
Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services (PDS) were engaged to assist with locating the suspect. As the PDS member was tracking the suspect’s whereabouts, two more calls from nearby residents were received, reporting they had sightings of the suspect on their properties.
Strathcona County RCMP and PDS members located a 38-year-old resident of Edmonton, who was subsequently arrested and charged with:
- Failing to comply with a release order (x3)
- Break and enter to a residence (x4)
- Assault
- Theft under $5000
- Resisting a Peace Officer
Following a Judicial Interim Release, the individual was remanded into custody and will appear before the Alberta Court of Justice on April 22, 2026.
