Parkland RCMP arrest thieves in parkade

Spruce Grove, Alta. –  On Apr. 10, 2026, Parkland RCMP received a complaint from a building manager that an individual was checking doorhandles of vehicles in an underground parking area in Spruce Grove.  Police arrived at the location and were notified that two male suspects were in a Jeep Cherokee in the underground parking. 

Police went into the underground parking lot and the suspect vehicle began attempting to evade police in an aggressive manner, maneuvering around the police vehicle. When the suspects noticed another police vehicle parked in the way of the parking garage door, they stopped. Police arrested the two suspects without incident. 

A 42-year-old resident of Onoway, Alta, has been charged with the following: 

• Break and enter;
• Mischief under $5,000 damage to motor vehicle;
• Possess break-in instruments;
• Possess of property obtained by crime;
• Operation while prohibited;
• Flight from Peace Officer;
• Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon; and
• Possession of methamphetamine. 

A 31-year-old resident of Stony Plain, Alta, has been charged with the following: 

• Break and enter;
• Mischief under $5,000 damage to motor vehicle; and
• Possess break-in instruments. 

The resident of Onoway, has been remanded into custody with their next court appearance on Apr. 15, 2026, at the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Albert. 

The resident of Stoney Plain  was release with his next court appearance on Apr. 15, 2026, at the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Albert.
