Parkland RCMP arrest and charge suspect in armed robbery investigations

Spruce Grove, Alta. – On Dec. 30, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Parkland RCMP responded to an armed robbery with a weapon at a local gas station. The masked suspect entered the store, deployed bear spray at the employee and demanded money. After receiving cash, the suspect bear sprayed the employee a second time and fled on foot. The Parkland General Investigation Section (GIS) has been conducting an extensive investigation to identify those responsible.
On Apr. 8, 2026, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Parkland RCMP responded to an armed robbery with a weapon at the same gas station. The masked suspect entered the store and brandished a weapon, threatening to spray the employee, and demanded money. After receiving cash, the suspect fled on foot. The Parkland GIS quickly linked the two occurrences by suspect and involved vehicle Investigation determined that in the second robbery, the suspect was dropped off and picked up by an accomplice.
On Apr. 10, 2026, Parkland GIS members arrested 2 suspects and executed a search warrant on a vehicle and residence in Spruce Grove.
A 52-year-old resident of Spruce Grove, has been charged with the following:
- Robbery with a weapon x2,
- Assault with a weapon x2,
- Commit an indictable offence while masked x2,
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x2.
The individual has been remanded in custody with his next court appearance on Apr. 15, 2026, at the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Albert.
A 48-year-old a resident of Spruce Grove, has been charged with robbery with a weapon. They were taken before a Justice of the Peace and release from custody with conditions and her next court appearance on Apr. 29, 2026, at the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Albert.
“These armed robberies were violent acts, resulting in weapons being used on employees of this business” states Sergeant Kuca, Commander of Parkland RCMP Plain Clothes Unit. “These investigations can be complex, and lengthy but I trust that identifying and charging these suspects helps to ensure public safety.”
