Cold Lake RCMP General Investigation Section execute search warrant, make arrests and seize firearms and drugs

Cold Lake, Alta. – On April 9, 2026, Cold Lake RCMP’s GIS executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant in the area of 16th Street and 7th Avenue, based on a short-term investigation into drug trafficking in the area. Upon entering the residence, several people were located inside and arrested for various offences. Police searched the residence and located a loaded handgun, a shotgun, approximately 128 grams of suspected cocaine, and other items consistent with the sale of cocaine. Two individuals have been charged in relation to this investigation.

A 27-year-old resident of Cold Lake, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking;
  • Possession of a loaded, prohibited firearm;
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
  • Carrying a concealed firearm;
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm; and
  • Possession of a Firearm with a tampered serial number.

A 26-year-old resident of Bonnyville and Cold Lake, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the Purpose of Trafficking;
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm;
  • Possession of a firearm with a tampered serial number;
  • Careless storage of a firearm; and 
  • Failing to Comply with the conditions of a Release Order.

Both individuals were remanded into custody and will appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Cold Lake on April 15, 2026.
