Clairmont RCMP arrest prolific offenders in stolen vehicles

Grande Prairie, Alta. – On April 15, 2026, Clairmont RCMP General Duties Section observed a stolen vehicle in Grande Prairie County off of Range Road 70. The vehicle had been reported stolen earlier in the day. Members maintained surveillance of the vehicle as it travelled into the city of Grande Prairie and the occupants left it on a residential street. RCMP with assistance of a police dog successfully arrested both occupants.
A 47-year-old, was charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000; and
- Failing to comply with release conditions.
The individual was taken before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody with their next court date set for April 20, 2026, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie.
A second suspect, a 45-year-old, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000. They have been released with her next court date set for July 22, 2026, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie.
On April 16, 2026, members of the Clairmont RCMP General Duties Section observed a stolen vehicle being operated by a known prolific offender on 84 avenue in Grande Prairie. Officers maintained covert surveillance of the vehicle until pull into a liquor store and both occupants were arrested. The driver, 50-year-old Grande Prairie resident, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.
This individual was taken before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody with their next court date set for April 20, 2026, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie.
The passenger of the vehicle was released without charges.
