Olds RCMP charged individual after stolen property investigation

Olds, Alta. – On April 16, 2026, Olds RCMP obtained new information in an ongoing investigation into stolen property at a residence located in Mountain View County. As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was executed at the property, and one individual was arrested.
During the search of the residence, the following items were located and seized:
- Untaxed tobacco – 38 cartons and 9 packs (total value of $6,971.56);
- Canadian currency totalling $51,680;
- Two unregistered firearms;
- Stolen vehicles and vehicle parts, valued between $123,800 and $234,000;
- Vehicle documents for a stolen vehicle;
- Stolen British Columbia licence plate;
- 22 rounds of ammunition;
- Money counter;
- Fraudulent VIN and manufacturer labels; and
- Registration and insurance for a cloned VIN associated to a Ford F-450.
A 63-year-old resident of Mountain View County, has been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000;
- Possession contrary to order;
- Fail to comply with undertaking;
- Possession for the purpose of selling tobacco products (Excise Act); and
- Possession of unstamped tobacco products (Excise Act).
Following a judicial interim release hearing, the individual was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Didsbury on April 22, 2026.
