Red Earth Creek RCMP responds to an assault with weapon

Red Earth Creek, Alta. - On April 18, 2026, at approximately 2:44 a.m., Red Earth Creek RCMP received a complaint from a caller that a male was attempting to stab him. The caller reported he had been punched in the face and was bleeding. Red Earth Creek RCMP arrived on scene and found the male in the area. The suspect proceeded to resisting police but was ultimately arrested.

As a result of the investigation, A 49-year-old, a resident of Peerless Lake, Alta., was charged with:

• Assault with weapon;
• Assault;
• Obstruct police officer;
• Resisting arrest; and
• Mischief.

The individual was brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody. They are to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Earth Creek on June 30, 2026.
