Lacombe County, Alta. – Sylvan Lake RCMP have laid charges in connection with the July, 5, 2025, fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 12 and Highway 766 that killed a 75-year-old and 72-year-old residents of Lacombe.  On March 20, 2026, 24-year-old Rimbey resident was arrested and charged with two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death. The 24-year-old  was taken before a Justice of the Peace and released from custody with their next court date set for April 24, 2026, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer.
