Lloydminster RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) execute search warrant and find significant amount of stolen property

Lloydminster, Alta. - On April 28, 2026, Lloydminster RCMP CRU began an investigation after several local active construction sites reported break and enters where property was stolen. Lloydminster RCMP were alerted to the sale of suspected stolen property via an online platform. Lloydminster CRU, with the assistance the public and Lloydminster RCMP Detachment, identified a male suspect.
Lloydminster RCMP officers observed the suspect conduct a sale of some suspected stolen property in the area of 31 Street and 57 Avenue. The individual was subsequently arrested. Following their arrest, police confirmed the suspect had exchanged one of the items reported as stolen for cash. Once in custody, Lloydminster RCMP CRU obtained and executed a search warrant on the residence of the suspect.
As a result, a 35-year-old resident of Lloydminster, has been charged with multiple offences including:
- Possession of property obtained by crime, over $5000, for the purposes of trafficking;
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, proceed of crime; and
- Trafficking in stolen property under $5000 x2.
The individual was brought before a Justice of the Peace for a hearing and was subsequently released from custody. They will appear next in court on May 19, 2026, in the Alberta Court of Justice in Lloydminster.
During this search, police recovered nearly $16,000 in stolen property. Lloydminster RCMP are working to return the property to their rightful owners. To date, police have been able to return much of the stolen property to involved local businesses.
Lloydminster RCMP would like to remind Albertans to secure their property, keep it out of plain sight, and not left in a vehicle or unattended.
