Ponoka RCMP charge 4 individuals with break and entering

Ponoka, Alta –On April 28, 2026, shortly after midnight, Ponoka RCMP responded to a call of a Break and Enter in progress at a rural residence. With the assistance of Maskwacis RCMP, Police Dog Services and remotely piloted aircraft system (RPAS/Drone), 4 suspects were located and arrested. A bb gun and hatchet were seized from the suspects. 

As a result, first suspect, a 41-year-old resident of Maskwacis, Alta. was charged with:

  • Break and enter;
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose; and
  • failure to comply with probation Order.

This individual was taken before a Justice of the Peace and released with their next court date at the Alberta Court of Justice in Ponoka on May 8, 2026.

Second suspect, a 23-year-old resident of Maskwacis, was charged with:

  • Break and enter;
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose;
  • Failure to comply with release order condition. 

They were taken before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Wetaskiwin on April 30, 2026. 

Third suspect, a 21-year-old and the fourth suspect, a 32-year-old, both residents of Maskwacis, were charged with;

  • Break and Enter; and
  • Possession of Weapon for dangerous purpose. 

The third individual was taken before a Justice of the Peace and released with their next court date at the Alberta Court of Justice in Ponoka on May 22, 2026

The fourth individual was taken before a Justice of the Peace and released with their next court date at the Alberta Court of Justice in Ponoka on May 8, 2026.
