May 10, 2026, marked the beginning of National Police Week – a seven-day public awareness campaign made in partnership with the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police that encourages increased awareness and understanding between police and the communities they serve.

The theme “Committed to Serve Together” provides an opportunity to not only acknowledge the crucial partnerships that make up the Alberta RCMP, but also the partnerships between the Alberta RCMP and other police agencies and first responders, as well as between the Alberta RCMP and the communities we serve. The collaboration within these relationships forms the cornerstone of effective crime prevention and public safety initiatives.

As part of National Police Week 2026, detachments across the province will be hosting several events, open houses, coffees with a cop, and other initiatives to connect with community members.

The Alberta RCMP is committed to fostering open dialogue, understanding, and mutual respect to maintain safe, inclusive communities where everyone feels valued and protected. This week, and every week, the Alberta RCMP is proud to affirm that it is #CommittedToServeTogether.
