Slave Lake RCMP on scene of serious motor vehicle collision - Update

Slave Lake, Alta. – On May 3, 2026, around 3 p.ml., Slave Lake RCMP responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 2, South of Slave Lake. Highway 2 was closed into the evening. Though the investigation is ongoing, preliminary information suggests that a vehicle crossed the double lines into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle, resulting in the death of those within. A 58-year-old and 62-year-old, both residents of Slave Lake, were pronounced deceased on scene. The occupants of the other vehicle were transported by EMS with minor injuries.

Alberta RCMP sends their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
