Wood Buffalo RCMP respond to break and enter, suspect arrested

Fort McMurray, Alta. – On May 6, 2026 at 1:31am, Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to an intrusion alarm at the Boston Pizza Restaurant located on Millenium Drive. On arrival, Police found that the front door was pried open, evidence of theft from the restaurant and the suspect had fled before police arrival.
Surveillance footage was reviewed and captured a suspect known to Police committing the break and enter. Wood Buffalo RCMP attended the suspect’s nearby residence and were refused entry. RCMP obtained a judicially authorized Feeney warrant. With assistance from Wood Buffalo RCMP Police Dog Services searched the residence, locating and arresting the suspect without further incident. Police also located and seized items stolen from the business during the break and enter.
The suspect was found to have been at large on an Appearance Notice from another break, enter and theft at the same location on April 12, 2026.
A 52-year-old resident of Fort McMurray, is facing charges:
- Break and enter with intent; and
- Two counts Theft under $5,000.
They were held for a Judicial Interim release hearing and was remanded into custody. They are set to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Fort McMurray on May 7, 2026.
