Maskwacis RCMP utilize ATV’s for summer patrols within the nations

Maskwacis, Alta. – On May 2, 2026, at 9 p.m., Maskwacis RCMP utilized police ATV’s to conduct patrols within Louis Bull, a nation within Maskwacis. Officers in the area conducted a roving check stop, checking several vehicles within the area. This resulted in the following infractions:
- Impaired driver, vehicle towed and charged with provincial sanctions, individual charged.
- Several warnings on seatbelt infractions including no seat for a child under 18 kg.
- Open alcohol in a vehicle charged accordingly, adult female charged.
- Drug seizure along with breaching conditions, adult male charged.
Maskwacis RCMP will continue to utilize the ATVs as a tool to be within the four nations proactive on public safety along with interacting with the public. The ATVs are equipped with emergency lights and RCMP markings. The ATV’s will be utilized when operators are available. We thank the public for their positive feedback on the deployments we have done all ready.
“You will see us out this summer on all the nations. We are open to feedback, as this is a tool we want to utilize to assist in the public safety and to have members out interacting with the public at the same time in a different police vehicle.” said Cst.
