Cold Lake RCMP conducts search and rescue operation near Beaver River Trestle Bridge

Cold Lake, Alta. – RCMP and partner agencies in Cold Lake are continuing an active search and rescue operation in the Beaver River Trestle Bridge area along the Iron Horse Trail following a serious incident involving a young adult on May 1, 2026. Search and rescue teams, fire rescue personnel, underwater search resources, emergency operations staff and mental health support services remain engaged in the response.

Police are asking members of the public to stay clear of the area while emergency personnel continue operations, and river conditions remain dangerous. Cold Lake RCMP extend condolences and support to family, friends, and all those affected.
