Strathcona County RCMP investigates fatal collision

Strathcona County, Alta. - On May 11, 2026, at approximately 5:40 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles on Range Road 220 just north of Township Road 522 near the Half Moon Lake subdivision in Strathcona County. 

Unfortunately, a 74-year-old driver of one of the vehicles succumbed to his injuries on scene. The 68-year-old driver of the second vehicle was transported to a hospital via ambulance where they were treated for their injuries. 

An RCMP Collision Reconstructionist assisted in this investigation, which remains ongoing.

Strathcona County RCMP extends their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
