Westlock RCMP arrest and charge suspect who broke windows at business

Westlock, Alta – On May 10, 2026, around 8:30 a.m., Westlock RCMP received a report of an individual breaking the windows at a business in town. Westlock RCMP responded immediately and after a short foot pursuit, the suspect was arrested by police. 

A 44-year-old resident of Westlock, is facing charges for mischief over $5000., and obstruction. 

The individual had failed to appear for a previous court date, so the related charge was laid, and they were held in police custody for a judicial interim release hearing. The individual was subsequently released and is to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice on May 27 at 10 a.m., in Westlock.
