Red Deer RCMP investigate youth aggravated assault

Red Deer, Alta. – On May 11, 2026, at approximately 2:21 p.m., Red Deer RCMP responded to multiple 911 calls requesting assistance for an assault. 

Police were notified that a youth had been assaulted at a field in the Lancaster Meadows area of Red Deer and was brought into the Collicut Centre for assistance.  

The victim sustained serious non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment. 

The incident is currently under investigation by Red Deer RCMP General Duty (GD) with the assistance of Red Deer RCMP General Investigative Section (GIS). 

Police are asking any witnesses or those who may have video footage to come forward to assist in the investigation. 

An update will be provided once more information is available.
