Alberta RCMP Community Response Team make arrests for drugs in Wainwright

Wainwright, Alta – On April 29, 2026, the Alberta RCMP Community Response team began a drug trafficking investigation after a traffic stop led to a drug seizure. Police arrested an adult.
On April 30, 2026, the Alberta RCMP Community Response Team with the assistance of the Wainwright RCMP and the Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services executed a search warrant at a residence in the area of 14 Street, in Wainwright. Police arrested an individual.
As a result of this investigation, police located and seized a quantity of cocaine, a firearm, and Canadian currency.
A 57-year-old resident of Wainwright, is facing the following charges:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine;
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm; and
- Possession of property obtained by crime.
A 29-year-old resident of Wainwright, is facing the following charges:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine;
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; and
- Possession of property obtained by crime.
Both were released from custody and are to appear at 9:30 a.m., on June 18, 20026, in the Alberta Court of Justice in Wainwright.
