Cold Lake RCMP on scene of serious motor vehicle collision - Update 2

Cold Lake, Alta. - Cold Lake RCMP responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle collision at approximately 1:45 p.m., on May 14, 2026. Preliminary investigation determined a head-on collision occurred on Highway 28 near Range Road 433 between two trucks, a pickup truck, and a commercial truck. The 51-year-old, resident of Cold Lake and sole occupant of the pickup truck, was declared deceased on scene. The 57-year-old driver and sole occupant of commercial truck was transported by ground ambulance to hospital with serious non-life-threatening injuries and is receiving medical care. 

Cold Lake RCMP were assisted by Alberta RCMP Real Time Operation Centre, an RCMP Collision Analyst, Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority, Associated Ambulance (Bonnyville), and Child and Family Services. 

Cold Lake RCMP send their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
