Cold Lake RCMP arrests a wanted individual

Cold Lake, Alta – On May 25, 2026, at 9 a.m., Cold Lake RCMP received information on the whereabouts of an individual on a Canada-Wide Warrant for breaching the conditions of their parole. 

Cold Lake RCMP, with the assistance of Alberta RCMP Police Dog services from St. Paul and Cold Lake, Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit and Cold Lake RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft System) located the wanted individual operating a stolen pickup truck on the Elizabeth Metis Settlement. The individual was operating the vehicle in a dangerous manner as they attempted to flee from police. Police utilized tactical vehicle intervention techniques, commonly known as the Pitt manoeuvre, to disable the vehicle and take the male into custody on his Canada Wide Warrant. 

A 32-year-old of Elizabeth Metis Settlement has been additionally charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of Stolen property over $5000;
  • Flight from police;
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle;
  • Failing to comply with a release order (x2); and
  • Drive while prohibited.

The individual was brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody, to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice on June 10, 2026.
