Red Deer, Alta – On May 20, 2026, while making proactive patrols in the area of Gasoline Alley in Red Deer, the Alberta RCMP Rural Organized Crime Team members entered into a drug trafficking investigation. A traffic stop was conducted on a rental vehicle where police arrested the driver and passenger of the vehicle as part of the investigation.
As a result of the investigation, Police located and seized:
- 185.07 grams of Methamphetamine;
- 850 ml of Gama Hydroxyburate (GHB);
- 0.2 grams of Fentanyl;
- 4.1 grams of Cocaine; and
- An improvised taser.
A 47-year-old resident of Eckville, and a 36-year-old resident of Red Deer, are jointly charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Both were brought before a justice of the peace. The 47-year-old was released on conditions while the 36-year-old was remanded into custody. Both are set to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer on June 2, 2026.
