Rocky Mountain House RCMP on scene at serious collision - Update

Clearwater County, Alta. – On May 29, 2026, at 4:33 p.m., Rocky Mountain House RCMP responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle collision on O’Chiese Road.  

One vehicle, a Grand Caravan, contained three occupants. The driver 74-year-old and a passenger a 51-year-old both residents of Rocky Mountain House, were declared deceased at the scene. The second vehicle, a Jeep Cherokee, contained three adults and two children. The female children, ages 5 and 6, residents of O’Chiese First Nation, were also declared deceased at the scene. All others involved were transported to hospitals for their injuries. 

The RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene, and the cause of the collision remains under investigation. Therefore, no further information is available.

RCMP sends condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
