Maskwacis RCMP charge individual with firearms offences after flight from police

Maskwacis, Alta. - On May 25, 2026, at approximately 6 p.m., in Samson Nation, Maskwacis RCMP received a call that a male suspect had a golf club and threatened to hit him. The suspect then went inside the house, retrieved a firearm, and threatened the male with the firearm. The male ran away from the area calling police a short time later.  A search warrant was executed at a residence in rural Samson in partnership with general duty members, General Investigation Section (GIS) and the community policing section.

Nathan Eagle (36), a resident of Samson, has been charged with the following: 

• Utter threats against a person;
• Possession of a firearm when prohibited;
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm;
• Unsafe storage of a firearm;
• Using a firearm in the commission of an offence;
• Possess a weapon dangerous to public;
• Assault with a weapon X2;
• Possession of a firearm with no licence.

On May 29, 2026, RCMP attempted an arrest of Eagle within Samson Nation. Eagle fled the scene at a high rate of speed in a black Dodge Durango. 

Eagle has also been charged with:

• Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle;
• Flight from peace officer.

 Eagle remains at large. Please call RCMP if you encounter him.
