Lloydminster RCMP lays fraud charges

Lloydminster, SK/AB - Lloydminster RCMP has charged a former manager of the Lloydminster Housing Authority following an investigation into allegations of fraud and theft from the non-profit organization.

In January 2026, Lloydminster RCMP began investigating reports of financial irregularities involving a former employee of the Lloydminster Housing Authority. The investigation determined that approximately $10,000 worth of fuel was allegedly obtained for personal use through unauthorized use of organizational resources. Investigators also determined that approximately $6,000 worth of flooring materials had been stolen from the organization.

As part of the investigation, Lloydminster RCMP executed a search warrant at a property in Marsden, Sk., with assistance from the Saskatchewan Crime Reduction Team (CRT). During the search, officers recovered 31 of the 52 boxes of flooring that had been reported stolen.

As a result of the investigation, a 49-year-old resident of Marsden, has been charged with:

  • Fraud Over $5,000; and
  • Theft Over $5,000.

The individual was served with a summons and is scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Aug. 17, 2026.

The Lloydminster Housing Authority is a non-profit organization that provides affordable housing options to residents in the community. Crimes involving the misappropriation of resources from organizations that serve vulnerable and low-income residents can have a significant impact on the services available to those who rely on them.
