Coaldale RCMP and partners respond to fatal collision

Lethbridge County, Alta. – On June 9, 2026, at 8:11 p.m., Coaldale RCMP responded with EMS/FIRE for a reported collision on Highway 4 near Range Road 210, southeast of Lethbridge. Upon arrival, a Volkswagen Jetta and a Mitsubishi Outlander were located. 

The driver of the Jetta, a 72-year-old resident of Lethbridge, was declared deceased at the scene. The two occupants of the Outlander were taken to a local hospital, where one was then airlifted via STARS, and the second taken via ground ambulance, to a Calgary hospital, with serious injuries. 

The highway was closed for hours while officer investigated, and the cause of the collision remains under investigation. 

RCMP sends condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and the injured.
