Maskwacis RCMP conducts commercial vehicle checks along Hwy 2 and 611 East/West

Maskwacis, Alta. – On June 17 - 18, 2026, Maskwacis RCMP conducted commercial vehicle stops in tandem with the Alberta Traffic calendar. Members of the RCMP conducted stops at high traffic locations throughout both days, resulting in the following infractions:

• 1 warrant executed; 
• 17 warnings;
• 8 School buses inspected; and 
• 26 commercial vehicles inspected including farm vehicles.

Operational highlights include the following: 34 Commercial vehicles checked with 6 requiring attention, 10 mechanical defects and 7 logbook infractions. The Maskwacis RCMP will continue to be out this summer checking vehicles while being a presence within the community.

Maskwacis RCMP would like to thank the public in keeping our community and our roads safe while working together and reporting dangerous drivers.  Reporting this in real time will have an impact on the safety of the motoring public with police responding while it is being observed.
