Wood Buffalo RCMP Launches Official Facebook Page to Strengthen Community Engagement

Fort McMurray, Alta. - Wood Buffalo RCMP are pleased to announce the launch of its official Facebook page, offering residents another way to stay informed, connected, and engaged with local policing initiatives and community safety information. The Facebook page was created to enhance communication between Wood Buffalo RCMP and the communities it serves. Through this platform, residents can access timely information on public safety matters, crime prevention tips, community events, and updates on policing activities throughout the region.

Social media is an important tool for sharing information, improving accessibility, and fostering positive relationships. Wood Buffalo RCMP is committed to using this platform to support transparency, provide relevant updates, and recognize the collaborative efforts that contribute to safer, healthier communities.

“We recognize the importance of meeting people where they are and providing information through accessible, modern communication channels,” says S/Sgt. Sabrina Clayton. “The launch of our Facebook page is another step toward strengthening our connection with residents, community partners, and stakeholders across the region. We encourage everyone to follow the page and stay informed about the work being done to help keep our communities safe.”

The Wood Buffalo RCMP Facebook page will be monitored regularly and will serve as an information-sharing platform. While community engagement is welcome, the page is not monitored 24 hours a day and should not be used to report crimes or emergencies.
