Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to a report of mischief, suspects located

Fort McMurray, Alta. - On June 23, 2026, at approximately 1:40 a.m., Wood Buffalo RCMP received a 9-1-1 call from a resident on Ball Place in the Timberlea area of Fort McMurray. The resident advised that a group of youths had been seen throwing garbage and an axe at a residence. The youths were last seen leaving the area in a grey Hyundai Tucson. Police conducted patrols in the area and later located the suspect vehicle, with six involved youths inside.  

As a result of the investigation, the youths, aged 16 and 17, were issued multiple provincial violation notices and their parents were notified. 

Wood Buffalo RCMP continue to encourage residents to report suspicious or concerning behaviour in their neighbourhoods.
