Grande Prairie RCMP charge individual with numerous sexual offences

Grande Prairie, Alta. – Grande Prairie RCMP has charged a 32-year-old resident of Grande Prairie, with numerous sexual offences.
On April 17, 2026, Grande Prairie RCMP initiated an investigation into an alleged sexual assault after a 14-year-old victim attended the detachment. The victim was from B.C. and said they met the individual via social media. The suspect drove to B.C. to pick them up and drove them to their residence in Grande Prairie. The victim was there for about a week and was able to leave when the individual left to go to work. As a result of this investigation, they were charged with the following:
- Sexual assault;
- Sexual interference;
- Forcible confinement;
- Assault while choking; and
- Unsafe storage of a firearm
After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, the individual was remanded until April 20. They were released on April 30, by a Judge, on several conditions.
On May 10, 2026, Grande Prairie RCMP responded to a 911 call at the accused residence. Investigation revealed that they had driven to Lloydminster to pick up an 18-year-old. They drove to the individuals residence where they allegedly assaulted them when they refused to have sexual relations with them. The individual was arrested and charged with the following:
- Assault;
- Assault while choking;
- Sexual assault; and
- Fail to comply with release order (x3).
After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, they were released on June 1, 2026, by a Justice of the Peace with several conditions and $7500 cash bail to attend Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie on June 22, 2026.
On June 18, 2026, a 15-year-old attended the Grande Prairie detachment to report that the 32-year-old had been following them around. They stated that the individual offered them alcohol if they got into the vehicle. On one occasion, the victim got into the individuals vehicle, and they then drove them to their residence, where the victim was sexually assaulted before leaving. There were multiple incidents which occurred between June 4 and 18. As a result of these incidents, the 32-year-old is charged with the following:
- Criminal harassment;
- Sexual interference;
- Sexual assault; and
- Fail to comply with release conditions.
As well, on June 18, 2026, Grande Prairie RCMP received a 911 call from the mother of a 12-yr-old youth who stated that an individual driving a yellow convertible Chevrolet Camaro tried to lure them child into their car. RCMP made immediate patrols and located the suspect driving the suspected vehicle. As a result of this investigation, they were charged with the following:
- Abduction of a person under 14 years old; and
- Fail to comply with release conditions.
After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, the 32-year-old was remanded in custody to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie on June 22. Their subsequent appearance is scheduled for July 2, 2026.
