Peace Regional RCMP charge individual with multiple firearms offences

Peace River, Alta. – On June 25, 2026, at approximately 4 p.m., Peace River RCMP responded to a call of a suspect walking on the road who pointed a handgun at the complainant. In total, RCMP received three calls for service reporting the same crime. Officers made active patrols to locate the suspect. Through the investigation, and with assistance from the Community Peace Officer and Police Dog Services, the suspect was located and arrested.
A 31-year-old has been charged with the following:
- Pointing a firearm;
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon;
- Possession of a prohibited weapon when knowing possession is unauthorized;
- Resist arrest;
- Obstruction of a peace officer;
- Fail to comply with release order condition; and
- Weapons possession contrary to order.
After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, the individual was remanded in custody to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Peace River on June 29, 2026.
