Wood Buffalo RCMP conduct drug trafficking investigation, suspects arrested

Fort McMurray, Alta – In March 2026, Wood Buffalo RCMP Drug Section began conducting a drug trafficking investigation. On May 22, 2026, Wood Buffalo RCMP Drug Section, along with the Crime Reduction Unit, executed search warrants at two residences in Downtown Fort McMurray, on Fraser Avenue and Macdonald Drive, and on several related vehicles. At the time the warrants were executed, two suspects were arrested without incident.
As a result of the search, Police located and seized:
- 1,542.5 grams of suspected cocaine;
- 8 grams of suspected MDMA;
- 198 tables of suspected Percocet;
- 1kg of buffing agent;
- Drug paraphernalia; and
- $12,035 in Canadian Currency.
A 29-year-old resident of Fort McMurray, is facing charges:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking.
They were released from Police custody on Undertaking and is set to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Fort McMurray on July 28, 2026.
