Wood Buffalo RCMP seek public assistance following vandalism to vehicles

Fort McMurray, Alta. – On June 29, 2026, Wood Buffalo RCMP received multiple reports of tires being slashed in downtown Fort McMurray. Sometime between 10:00 pm on June 28, 2026 and 4:00am on June 29, 2026, approximately 30 vehicles had their tires slashed while parked at 15 & 16 Saunderson Avenue and 111 & 112 Charles Avenue.
Wood Buffalo continue to investigate and are looking for surveillance or dash camera footage of the area at the time. Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect(s) are asked to contact the Wood Buffalo RCMP at (780) 788‐4000 or 310-RCMP (7267). Alberta RCMP have launched CAPTURE (Community Assisted Policing Through the Use of Recorded Evidence) throughout the Province and it is now being used here by Wood Buffalo RCMP. CAPTURE is a voluntary surveillance camera registry program, which allows residents and businesses with surveillance to register the location of their cameras to assist RCMP with investigations and keep the community safe. Any contact information and video cameras submitted on the website would not be available to the public. Police do not have access to your live feed or view your cameras.
