Wood Buffalo RCMP look to reunite found ashes with family

Fort McMurray, Alta – On April 28, 2026, Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to a report of found ashes. The ashes were located near the 100 block of Woodland Drive, in the Thickwood area of Fort McMurray. Within close proximity of the ashes, were pieces of what appeared to be an urn. The origin of the ashes is unknown. 

The Wood Buffalo RCMP would like to reunite the ashes with their family.
