Leduc RCMP integrated community safety unit lay charges

Leduc, Alta.- On June 17 at around 1:30 a.m., Leduc’s integrated community safety unit were conducting patrols and observed a vehicle in a parking lot in Discovery Way. A traffic stop was initiated, and officers conducted a search of the vehicle due to illegal items in plain view. The search led to the discovery of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a can of bear spray.

A 27- year-old resident of Calmar and a 30-year-old  resident of Thorsby were arrested and charged with the following offences:

• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Possession of controlled substance

Were both released on an appearance notice and are to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Leduc on Aug.13, 2026.
